GREEN ECONOMY
Green circular economy
The green circular economy can be defined as the management of the entire product life cycle of resources, from extraction to waste and final disposal. As a result, products can be designed using sustainable, often bio-derived raw materials, that does not harm the environment when used and can be ultimately recycled.
As part of the green circular economy, smarter designs allow products to be repaired, re-used, remanufactured, and then recycled again. A greener economy will mean new growth and job opportunities with eco-design, eco-innovation, waste prevention and the reuse of raw materials bringing net savings for industry. It also benefits the environment and reduces gas emissions.
As the industry embraces biotechnology, it can produce sustainable raw materials which form a central role in the green circular economy.
The green economic transformation

The challenge
KEMQuest has recognised that increased worldwide environmental regulations, climate change issues and the 4th industrial technological revolution are driving a rapid transition to a green economy.
Products that have traditionally been used and derived from petroleum sources will face stress periods unless alternative sustainable methods, processes and feedstock are introduced. For businesses that fail to embrace the green circular economy, and do not adapt in response to the current environmental challenges, then long-term business sustainability could be at risk.
